Welcome To The Career Development Event Homepage

Today's agricultural industry presents students with over 300 career opportunities. One in every three people in Nebraska are employed in an agriculture related field. With this is mind, the Nebraska Career Development Events (CDEs) help students develop the abilities to think critically, communicate clearly, and perform effectively in a competitive job market. Nebraska hosts 17 CDEs, covering job skills in everything from communications to mechanics.

These events typically cover the technical skill areas related to this diverse career field. Together with the Leadership Skills Events (LSEs) organized by the Nebraska FFA Association, students in agricultural education compete in a variety of events that sharpen their skills as they explore and experience careers in agriculture. CDE and LSE events take place during State FFA Convention in early April on UNL's East Campus, at Southeast Community College in Lincoln, and at the Cornhusker Hotel.
